How do I make a booking?
You can ring us on the number above, or email us via our contact page, and we will call you back.
What payments methods do you accept?
We accept payment by cash, debit or credit card, PayPal or direct transfer.
Do you need a security deposit?
Yes, we require a £1000 security deposit when picking up your campervan. This is pre-authorised on your credit or debit card. This security deposit is taken in the potential event of any negligent damage to the campervan.
What documentation do I need when collecting the campervan?
All drivers will need to bring both parts of their driving licence. The main hirer must also bring a recent utility bill e.g. electric, gas, credit card statement, to prove their address
Can I take the Campervan abroad?
Yes you can. There is a one off charge of £30, and a daily charge of £15, for the European Driving Pack. This pack includes full insurance cover, roadside assistance, and all the items required for driving abroad, which includes headlight adjustment, GB badge, warning triangle, high visibility vest and anything else dependant on which countries you are visiting. Please contact us directly to find out where you can take our campervans.
What is the insurance excess when hiring a campervan?
The insurance excess on our policy is £1000, this can be reduced to £150 by paying a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) fee of £10 per day. Damage to tyres, roof, hire options, interior fixtures and fittings or negligent damage is not covered by CDW.
How much do I need to pay to make a booking?
We require a £200 deposit per week to make a booking, unfortunately deposits are non refundable. Full payment must be received 1 month before the booking commences, once the balance is paid in full, no refunds are available for curtailment or cancellation. We advise that you have adequate holiday insurance cover in place.
Do you have automatic VW California's?
Yes we do. We want you to be as familiar as possble with driving one of our campervans, so if you are are used to driving an auto, then book at automatic van. Available at an extra cost of just £10 per day.
How old are your VW California's?
All our VW California campervans are under 18 months old. They are the lastest VW California GP models with the 2.0 TDI 180BHP engine.
Can we take pets with us?
This is something we are presently looking at. Please call us with your requiremnts and we'll see what we can do for you.
Are there any age or licence restrictions for hiring a VW California from Bognor Motors?
Drivers must be between the ages of 25 and 70, with a minimum of two years driving experience, a clean driving licence, and no recent accidents. Drivers outside these conditions will be considered but an extra fee may be charged. Certain endorsements are allowed - please contact us, so we can check for you.
What is your cancellation policy?
We hope that this is something that never happens, but our cancellations policy charges are as follows;
More than a month from your booking - Booking deposit,
Less than one month from your booking - The total hire charge,
For curtailment - the total hire charge.
We recommend that when booking your campervan from us, you have adequate holiday insurance in place, to cover you against any unforseen circumstances.
Where can I pick the Campervan up from?
The Campervans can only be collected from our site in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO229RT. However, we can arrange to collect you from the local train station, airport, ferry port etc (There may be some extra charges involved).
Can we leave our car with you whilst we hire a campervan?
Yes, we have secure parking in our compound. Your vehicle must be fully insured.
What time can we collect the Campervan?
Collection of your VW California is from any time between 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 11am on a Saturday. Dropping the California back to us is the same hours.
Out of hours collection or drop off is available, subject to availabilty and prior arrangement. There may be an extra charge for this service
